Once again see Cabaret Voltaire – The “Final EU Tour” is coming to Germany!

On 13 May In May 1975, one of the most exciting chapters in British music history began: Chris Watson and Stephen Mallinder entered the stage of the Sheffield Students Union Refectory with their band Cabaret Voltaire. Named after the Zurich-based Cabaret Voltaire, which is considered a hotbed of Dadaism, it was clear from the beginning that anything could happen with this band. For example, an eight-and-a-half-minute track called “The Dada Man”, which made the sounds in the mid-70s that you could only hear from his Gameboy decades later. In their active phases from 1973 to 1994 and 2009 to 2021, they developed their very own sound between industrial, proto-punk, electro. Later, in tracks like “Just Fascination” and “Sensoria”, even between techno, goth and pop.

In this one, your 50. In the anniversary year, Cabaret Voltaire founding members Chris Watson and Stephen Mallinder reunited – and announce one last goodbye. Later this month they will give a number of selected concerts in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Brighton – 2026 will be followed by further shows in the UK and the “Final EU Tour”, which will also take them to Berlin on 02.06.2026 in the Betonhalle im silent green. On this tour, they will try to bring “the essence of Cabaret Voltaire” to the stage – Mallinder and Watson promise in advance. The setlist will “beat the bow from early experiments to the first releases at Rough Trade and Factory to the video label of the band Doublevision and the collaboration with renowned producers such as Adrian Sherwood and Marshall Jefferson.”

Stephen Mallinder explains: The live set has been completely rebuilt, but remains true to the original tracks. Everything has been carefully reconstructed using the original technology and procedures to get the tracks. But as with all of our live shows, there is an element of the unpredictable, of the new. Chance meets causality. ‘
