URBAN HEAT Announce US Tour In Support Of Upcoming Album THE TOWER

“We’re here to do the thing,” says Jonathan Horstmann, lead singer of URBAN HEAT, about the exciting prospect of hitting the road in support of their upcoming album THE TOWER which comes out August 16, 2024 via Artoffact Records. “We’re excited about reconnecting with fans across North America, and making new fans abroad. We’re honored and humbled and immensely grateful for the opportunities that have come our way and the steadfast support of our community. But at the end of the day, there’s a thing that needs doing, and we’re gonna go do the thing.”

With this announcement, the fascinating post-punk band is set to make 2024 as epic (if not more) as 2023, which was a breakthrough year for them. SPIN Magazine credited them to having hit “America’s goth underground in such a blitz that it feels like it suddenly arose from the ether” and added that they believe bandleader Jonathan’s star power is more present “than any Austin musician in recent history.”

Kicking off June 15th and stretching until October 13th, with its origin and conclusion in their home state of Texas, the tour takes them to even more cities than ever before (and will be followed by a European tour with Molchat Doma in the fall).

TICKETS: Tickets are available now on the Urban Heat website, where you can also get updates.

SUPPORT: They will be supported by southern California’s 80s new wave-inspired GVLLOW, New Orleans-based synth-heavy Delores Galore, California Darkwave band Grizz CLL, or goth pop duo Wingtips on select dates.

A post-punk/alt pop band in the vein of The Cure, Interpol, and CHVRCHES, Urban Heat have released a handful of singles in advance of The Tower’s release in August. Austin’s KUTX says their pulsating first single “Sanitizer” “oozes infectious electro elements like drastically-saturated bass tones, scalpel-sharp drums, and pitch wheel synth sirens that’ll elevate your heartbeat with what’s easily Urban Heat’s most aggressive original to date.” Its followup “Seven Safe Places” was described by Wildfire Music as “playfully melancholic,” while their most recent “heartbreaking” single “Say The Words” which Jonathan describes as “one of the most personal songs I’ve written,” was praised by Post-Punk as “poignant pain, whispering of past sweetness and present bitterness.”
