The night kicked off with the incredible solo act Vagabond. She had such a captivating presence, but while I understand what a solo act is, I do wish she had a drummer to elevate those beats! I was vibing hard and couldn’t stop grooving. The crowd seemed into it… at least until I took out my free earplugs and realized some folks around me were too busy chatting to appreciate the show! What Dicks!
Then Crumb took the stage, and let me tell you, the entire venue buzzed with an electric hum. Crumb have this signature soft, technical sound that is best described as pure joy. My friends and I couldn’t stop moving and grooving!
The whole night was one big groove fest, and I was here for it!
And a little bonus for the collectors out there – Crumb left a stash of signed records at Wax Trax on 13th! As of October 12th, 11 a.m., the store staff reassured me, “Oh, there’s plenty, don’t worry!” But judging by how their signed Brat vinyls sold out in under four hours, you might want to run, not walk!
