Charli XCX, Tyla, Africa Express and 17 more acts announced for the Roskilde Festival

The Roskilde Festival is nearing completion of its line-up for the 2025 edition and today announces 20 new artists. Among the most exciting newcomers are Charli XCX, one of the most influential female pop artists at the moment, the South African Amapiano sensation Tyla and the pan-African collective Africa Express, led by Damon Albarn.

Charli XCX on the legendary Orange Stage
As one of the most exciting voices in the pop world today, Charli XCX will conquer the iconic Orange Stage of the Roskilde Festival. The British singer and producer returns after her acclaimed performance last year, this time on the biggest stage of the festival. Her 2024 album “Brat” won her two Grammy Awards and a Brit Award and was hailed by media such as The New York Times, The Guardian, NME and Rolling Stone as one of the best albums of the year. In autumn 2024, the remix album “Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat” followed, with contributions from artists such as Robyn, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Ariana Grande.

Thomas Sønderby Jepsen, Head of Music at Roskilde Festival, said: Charlie XCX is one of the most exciting voices in modern pop. It breaks boundaries and sets new standards like hardly anyone else. In true charli fashion, she has already reinvented her live set, and we look forward to presenting her spectacular show at the Orange Stage this summer. ‘

African Acts on the Main Stage
In addition to Charli XCX, Africa Express will also make the Orange Stage quake. Founded by Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, the collective gathers numerous international stars and presents material from his new album. Also new to the line-up is South African singer Tyla, whose mix of pop, R&B and Amapiano inspires worldwide. Their 2024 debut album marked their international breakthrough. After she had to cancel her performance at the Roskilde Festival in 2024, she is now all the more looking forward to her debut on the festival stage.

Samba, Funk and Sámi songs from around the world
The new additions also include Charanga do França from Brazil, which delights with energetic samba and rousing parades. The Congolese collective Ngwaka Son Systéme recycles discarded objects into handmade instruments and provides ecstatic sounds. Singer Katarina Barruk from Sweden combines pop with traditional sámi joik and sings in the endangered Ume sámi language.

We attach great importance to presenting a line-up that cannot be found in this form at any other festival. With today’s announcement, we have now reached 171 musical acts from 40 countries – but the programme is not yet complete!
