I Found The Missing Part Of That Equation

Lucked Out, fromjoy, Omerta, Mugshot, Orthodox.

Best concert of the year. ‘Nuff said.

I’ve never put the photos at the front of these things, especially photos so shit. But there was some weird energy tonight. A euphoric synergy between the bands, audience, and to give credit where it’s due, sound engineers. Everything added to each other in a way that made me not want to leave the floor – the kick added to the bass, the audience added to the band, nothing felt uncomfortable despite half the people seemingly not knowing what a shower was. Despite having no free hands for protection, I was totally ready and willing to have some stage diver land on top of me or a mosher punch me. The energy was that perfectly aligned on this Tuesday night. Everything was worth the potential injury or worse.

Maybe that synergy is the missing part of the equation. When I saw Orthodox at the HQ, I didn’t want to put myself in danger. It was a good show, but there was a missing piece that made noping out a welcome thing. And that missing piece was here, making noping out not a thing at all.
