Born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles, Grey grew up with the overlapping influence of old Hollywood, musical theater, and club culture. The result? A shapeshifting creative force was born: part pop diva, part dinner-party mastermind, part punk in heels. All of her visuals are handcrafted; she directs her own videos, styles her own looks, creative-directs the photo shoots, and even runs her own marketing agency to help build worlds for other independent artists. One time she bought out the oldest costume shop in Las Vegas just to build her dream performance wardrobe.
And of course she couldn’t record her debut just anywhere, so she went to Rome to work with Alex Elena and Steve Baughman, and fully immerse herself in the process of making her first record. Without the distraction of everyday life and all of its multi-tasking, Grey was able to shift her focus on the story she was telling through her songs.
