Magic Mirror Line-up is Here: Pride, Power and Performance at Sziget Festival

Sziget’s popular LGBTQIA+ stage Magic Mirror is returning to a new location this year – at the brand new North Field. For decades, Magic Mirror has been a proud, sparkling home for the queer community and their allies. A space in which courageous self-development, love and inclusion are at the center – values that are more topical today than ever. The line-up announcement is part of a series of announcements made in recent weeks, with other venues such as The Club by Don Julio, Yettel Colosseum, Bolt Night Stage, Paradox, Light Stage and the Boat Parties finalizing their line-up this year.

For six unforgettable days, Budapest’s Óbudai Island transforms into the Island of Freedom. One of the most popular places there: Magic Mirror – back with a line-up that is more colorful, louder and more confident than ever. The programme includes: mirror talks, dance workshops, drag and performance shows, voguing, waacking, queer self-care sessions, disco extravaganza and long nights full of dance and music – a non-stop celebration of queer diversity in all its facets.

International highlights from drag to theatrical clubbing: The diverse line-up in the Magic Mirror

The Kombo Endorphine Berlin will headline the big drag show every day at 11 pm. Directed by Markus Pabst, this tailor-made, body-positive production merges acrobatics, boylesque and voguing into an energetic, artistic spectacle. The British group Queenz brings their energetic live vocal drag show “Drag Me to the Disco” on stage early in the evening – with disco dreams and a lot of diva energy.

From Slovakia, Tepláreň arrives – the legendary queer party from Bratislava brings cabaret, drag and a dance floor full of love to the island and celebrates over 13 years of community and freedom. Also daily is the award-winning, all-female comedy circus YUCK Circus from Australia – which turns toxic masculinity and clichés on their heads with acrobatics, wit and courage.

Ugress: Retropia from Norway takes the audience on an audiovisual journey through future visions and retro dreams – between sci-fi nostalgia, media art and music. The collective Lady Joker combines electronic music with theater, dance, live singing, poetry, video art and stunning costumes – her style: Theatrical Clubbing. Those who prefer to move themselves can participate in the dance workshops of The Movement of Underground from Hungary – for moving bodies and connected hearts.
