As an avid hater of Netflix, I slept on this movie. Sure, it has unnecessary lesbian teen relationships (I don’t have beef against lesbian teens, but I do have beef against cliche relationships that easily could have been just two strangers turned friends), but it also has an ending that makes me smile.
To understand that, just know I absolutely hate cliches, I hate the easy way out, and I have when Act III is the most half assed act of a movie. The cliches describes a bit of Fear Street 1994, but the rest doesn’t.
And that’s why you should probably expect to see Part Two and Part Three up here at some point. Because Part One was bloody, sad, and only had the one unnecessary cliche. Part One had characters who didn’t make stupid decisions, like villains who spend 5 minutes giving a speech before killing their victim which ends up giving our heroes enough time to set up a rube goldberg machine that saves the day. And Part One didn’t overstay its welcome despite being like almost 2 hours.
