Packaging’s “Always Calling” is the lead-off track from the band’s forthcoming self-titled LP. The track plunges into the indie-art-rock world with subtle nods to krautrock, and counter melodies performed by the song’s co-producer Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic, Art Feynman), a wide range of instrumentation (including clarinet performed by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats’ own Andreas Wild), and rich textures (like a literal deep calming breath) that transports you into a blissful groove filled whirlpool.
