The resurgence of Nu-Metal continues to brew in small clubs across the U.S. via SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY. This “Nu” kind of DJ night just announced 14 more parties, adding to a stacked schedule of events for this Fall and Winter.
In addition to the slate of club dates, SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY has two unofficial sideshows slated: Sept. 23 at Zydeco (Birmingham, Ala.), unofficial Furnace Fest sideshow, with Soul Glo performing live, in addition to the DJ event, and Nov. 3 at The Voodoo Room at House of Blues San Diego, as an unofficial sideshow to Dia De Los Deftones.
“It’s always such a blast to see people of all ages and backgrounds out in the crowds, pushing each other around and screaming at the top of their lungs,” shares SUGAR DJ Brian Howe. “It’s been especially cool to see so many younger people at these events, and have some proof that this music I grew up with, and still love to this day, stands the test of time. This is a culture that still connects with kids today the same way it did when I was a teenager and it’s really awesome to play a small part in spreading the Nu-Metal gospel to a new generation.”
SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY brings nu-metal back to the underground that created it, playing the classic, fist-pumping tracks that birthed a movement while also incorporating the nu-wave of bands re-igniting the genre, from Bad Omens and Code Orange, to Tallah and Wargasm, Spiritbox and Turnstile.
