The Joys of Metal with Bob Ross

It’s the holiday season! And not the spooky, scary holiday season, but the one with family, friends, presents, candles, good food, good drink, and good vibes. And I want to pass those good vibes to all of y’all in the only way I know how. So, I hope you don’t mind if I retell the tale of Stabbing, Skeletal Remains, Suffocation, and Incantation in the positive and uplifting voice of the one and only Bob Ross.

Also, apparently he has his own streaming channel. Which I found today. Crazy coincidence!

……….

I love the winter air. And I hope you do to, but if you don’t, that’s ok, It’s your world, it can be whatever time of year you want. I hope you’re having a pleasant evening; I know I am. And if you’re not ready, feel free to come back when you are; I’m not going anywhere. I can wait for you.

Music is a beautiful way to make happy little thoughts. I want to start by sending my blessings to Matt Day, who’s getting married today. He normally plays bass guitar for the happy little band Stabbing, but had bigger things to do tonight, as we sometimes all do.

I love the canvas music makes because it always is surprising. I think Bridget Lynch is a very surprising singer. She might look like a beautiful painter, or maybe drawer, but in her world she’s a screamer, and boy is she good at it. She screams brilliantly, something that sometimes we all do time to time to get those negative emotions and feelings out of our minds and bodies.

The kids in the audience got their negative feelings out with dancing, and that’s ok too. But sometimes we can get too aggressive, and that doesn’t make anybody happy. Nobody likes to break a tooth! But even a broken tooth can sometimes just be a happy little accident. One small man broke his tooth during Skeletal Remains. I’m glad he’s doing much, much better.

I saw you back on the dance floor finding your happy thoughts again you little rascal. It made me happy seeing you find your happiness again after your little mistake. And I like that the background for this little adventure was the happy music of Skeletal Remains.

Some people get their minds happy by flying over their little friends up in the sky. I think that’s fun. Suffocation thought that was fun too. Their music made so many people fly high in the sky —

But when we’re getting our negative emotions out, we can’t let it get the better of us. If it does, we should use it as a learning opportunity to better control ourselves next time. So many fights almost broke out during Suffocation; but remember, those bad emotions are only temporary. We can replace them with good ones if we let ourselves.

The people did eventually get their happy little thoughts back. You turned your squabble into a happy little squibble. I’m proud of all of you.

Some people think that, as a man, admitting when you’re physically tired is a weakness. I think it’s a strength. And boy did I start feeling physically tired near the end of their set. And I’m not scared to admit I walked to the back and rested. It’s natural for all humans to feel tired sometimes. I know I sure did.

I always get excited when the last band comes on stage because I know I can empty my tank of energy. And with my energy tank already running so low, it was a happy moment when Incantation, some of the nicest people, stepped on stage.

My parents taught me not to say bad words. But I know sometimes we need to say bad words to get rid of the bad thoughts. Boy did Incantation get rid of their bad thoughts that way. And no one got hurt!

I think it’s special that we all have different ways to get our happy thoughts.

I saw many of those ways tonight. Happy screaming. Happy dancing. Happy flying. Happy resting. And happy cursing. I left feeling very happy. I hope everyone else did, although I don’t think I need to hope much because everyone was just so nice and professional. Except for the kids trying to get into fights, but you know what?

We all make little mistakes sometimes. Let’s learn from them so they can become happy little mistakes instead.

……….

There were a lot of people crowd surfing for a club metal show. Like, I thought there’d be more moshing, and there was, but also, a lot of surfing. Anyways, I hope reading that made you happy, and I hope looking at these makes you happy too.

And if you want to make your loved ones happy, maybe a Fuck Your Social Media shirt for the holidays might do the trick! I know it’ll make me happy. For every 10 shirts I sell, I’ll buy one bottle of booze. Help me get black out drunk this holiday season. I beg you. I have family events to attend. Please.
