I came across this Fantano video this morning:
And this shit is pissing me off. Billionaire nepo babies coming after music. Her dad is the reason why your utility bills are sky high. Why your family is dying from cancer. Why your water is brown. Her father is the one stealing your music but will sue you into the ground is you steal is daughter’s. And now he’s using his money to shove her music down your throat to wash out the locals who actually know what Boston because they don’t hang out in penthouses when they visit.
He’s buying her plays, he’s buying her gigs, and the contrast of that with people who are much, much more talented not being able to book anything whether do to not enough time or venues being bought out by corporate owners who give zero shits about locals, I think makes it perfectly acceptable to shun billionaire nepo babies. If she truly wants to be an artist, she can start by shunning her family that caused millions of deaths through billionaire funded hardships and lobbying.
And while this is just a quick, emotionally charged opinionated blog post, I think it’s an important one to save art from soulless corporate owners. They’ve taken everything else, let’s at least make their artistic vanity projects an unacceptable occurrence.
